Ultrasound Therapeutics Ltd has pioneered and funded the high-intensity
focussed ultrasound (HIFU) process in
the Western World and is currently investigating HIFU's enormous potential
in several other areas of medicine for both benign and malignant conditions.
The HAIFU System offers the only high intensity ultrasound therapy for
the treatment of solid tumours, in a variety of organs, that is commercially
available. This device has recently gained universal CE Mark approval for
clinical use and is available for private treatment of cancers in the
kidneys, liver, pancreas and bone.
The Stockport, UK based firm is a private company funded by its
