New medical ultrasound drivers from Supertex deliver deeper body tissue
imaging capability

Sunnyvale, California USA. Supertex has introduced the HV219, a low
switch resistance, low charge injection, 8-channel, high-voltage analog
switch integrated circuit (IC) that is perfectly suited for use in medical
ultrasound imaging applications. The IC utilizes high-voltage bilateral DMOS
switches and low power CMOS logic to provide efficient control of high
voltage signals, up to 200V. In medical ultrasound applications, this allows
for higher transmitting voltages that provide deeper body tissue imaging.
Other features of the HV219 include low charge injection to obtain
clearer images and a faster frame rate, 11-ohm switch resistance that
minimizes return signal attenuation and CMOS serial shift register logic
control that minimizes I/O connections and power dissipation.

Additionally, Supertex released the 16-Channel HV238TA in a space-saving
TAPP package for higher board density. The IC features integrated bleed
resistors on the outputs that discharge residual DC voltages and reduce
erroneous signals in medical ultrasound and non-destructive evaluation
applications.
