Zonare expands ultrasound business into Germany, Switzerland, Austria
3 October 2005
Geneva, Switzerland. Zonare Medical Systems, a developer of
next-generation ultrasound technology, announced the opening of the
company's new affiliate, ZONARE Medical Systems GmbH, at the seventeenth
annual European Congress of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology at the end of
September.
The new entity will market and service Zonare's z.one ultrasound unit,
the world's first convertible ultrasound system, throughout Germany,
Switzerland and Austria. Zonare's affiliate will be located in Erlangen,
Germany.
The z.one system is based on revolutionary Zone Sonography (TM)
technology. This new architecture has allowed Zonare Medical Systems to
bring the first Convertible Ultrasound(TM) platform to the industry with
superb image quality at a substantial price to value ratio. Basically,
clinicians are able to instantly convert the z.one system from a
full-featured, cart-based unit into a premium compact, ultrasound system
with all the performance of substantially larger and more expensive
ultrasound units, yet, with greater portability and clinical flexibility
than conventional compact systems.
"We are very excited about the promise of Zone Sonography technology and
the ability to finally retain all of the ultrasound data," said Dr. Joerg A.
Boenhof, Department of Imaging Techniques at the DKD Deutsche Klinik fur
Diagnostik (German Diagnostic Center) in Wiesbaden, Germany. "This
technology also allows us to add upgrades quickly and take complete
advantage of new computing power as it is developed. We, as ultrasound
professionals, and our patients will realize multiple benefits from it."
