Mercury Computer Systems introduces integrated 3D PACS

Chelmsford, Mass., USA. Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) has
introduced breakthrough integrated 3D visualization and analysis within a
PACS workflow
Mercury has integrated its web-based Visage PACS software with the Visage
CS Thin Client/Server 3D visualization system, enabling users to seamlessly
utilize the 3D functionality of Visage CS within the workflow of Visage
PACS, throughout the hospital enterprise. Physicians and radiologists are
now able to use MIP/MPR, volume rendering, and other advanced 3D viewing,
navigation, and measurement functions for diagnosis directly from the PACS
system, eliminating the need for an expensive dedicated 3D workstation and
the resulting disruption to the clinical workflow. The full integration of
the 3D in the Core platform was demonstrated at the European Congress of
Radiology in early March and at the US Society for Computer Applications in
Radiology (SCAR) 2006 Annual Meeting in April.

to 3D — and the biggest obstacle to 3D imaging adoption has been the lack of

performed centrally on a secure server and available anywhere across the

workflow."
Mercury's 3D to the Core platform for OEMs is composed of the Visage
family of integrated products that span the diagnostic workflow. The Visage
CS solution expands 3D viewing capabilities to an unlimited number of users
everywhere in a hospital and at remote sites, using existing PCs or even
mobile computers. Through thin-client technology, the full viewing and
diagnostic functionality becomes available anywhere, anytime throughout the
hospital enterprise, without requiring special hardware on the client side.
Availability of Visage CS 2.0 is planned for early May 2006.
