Dräger Medical opens new subsidiary in Argentina

23 October 2006

Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dräger Medical S.A. has opened a full-fledged subsidiary in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Previously, the manufacturer of medical technology had only dealer representation in Argentina.

After more than 50 years of market presence in Latin America with subsidiaries in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico and a regional customer center in Costa Rica, the company now has its own subsidiary in the second-largest country in South America.

Dräger Medical employs approximately 200 employees at the now five locations, which will continue to provide overall sales and service support to customers in Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and all the countries in Central America.

Jürgen Heiko Borwieck is the new organization's General Manager. The 33-year-old industrial engineer has been with Dräger Medical for twelve years, the last four of which he oversaw various regions and countries such as Portugal and Saudi Arabia.

"The founding of another subsidiary is the next step to expanding market shares in the treatment of acute-care patients through a professional presence in South America," said Borwieck. Above all, it will be the company's system solutions that set it apart from the competition. Dräger Medical Argentina S.A. will carry the entire product portfolio of comprehensive CareArea solutions for the acute point of care - from emergency, perioperative, critical and perinatal care to home care.
