BioLED lab-on-chip technology to be demonstrated at Imperial College, London

Geneva, Switzerland. Acrongenomics, Inc. (OTCBB:AGNM) and Molecular Vision, Ltd (MVL) have announced that a demonstration version of the BioLED Lab On A Chip platform combining MVL’s expertise in microfluidics, organic semiconductor diodes and photodetectors will be presented to a selected audience at Imperial College’s Bioincubator building, where MVL is situated, on the 8th of March 2007.

“This is a great achievement for Acrongenomics,” said Mr. Plato Tzouvalis, President and COO of Acrongenomics. “Our strong support of MLV’s innovative technology through our joint venture agreement has taken BioLED technology from concept to the realization of a working demonstrator.”

Molecular Vision is a spin-out company of Imperial Innovations Ltd, which was founded by three Imperial College London researchers, Prof. Donal Bradley, Prof. Andrew de Mello and Dr. John de Mello in 2002. Its aim is to meet the demand in the medical diagnostics, biosensors and analytical instrumentations markets for miniaturized chemical and biological detectors offering high sensitivity and functionality at low cost.

The company has invented a novel method for optical detection based on recent advances in organic electronics and light emitting diodes combined with microfluidics technology. Molecular Vision recently signed a major development contract with Acrongenomics Inc. to jointly exploit and commercialise the technology.
