Experia showcases sensory technology at Hospitalar

8 June 2010

West Yorkshire based Experia exhibited the next generation in sensory equipment, which provides a calming and stimulating learning environment, at Hospitalar 2010 — the largest medical trade fair in Latin America.

The range of IRiS sensory products are designed to provide an intensive, full-body sensory experience to suit the needs of an individual, whatever their age.

The interactive equipment uses unique technology to produce a combination of smells, light, vibration and video projection. All the products use wireless technologies, making them even more accessible; allowing the user to have total freedom whilst enjoying the experience.

Sensory products are aimed at special needs establishments, mainstream schools, hospitals, day care centres, toy libraries, nursing homes, adult resource/training centre, etc. They can be used as part of an educational programme or just for fun; transporting a person’s imagination around the world, to any destination or to any particular time in history.

The multisensory roomProving to be a success in the UK, revolutionary products such as the MILE (Multisensory Interactive Learning Environment) are being widely adopted in special needs and mainstream establishments across the world.

Although sensory equipment is a relatively new concept to Latin America there has been a recent growth in countries such as Chile and Mexico and the company used Hospitalar 2010 to highlight its many benefits for both users and their carers.

Gareth Jones from Experia, said: “All our products have the same aim to offer innovation, accessibility and fun, regardless of the user's age or ability. We combine creativity with the latest technologies and the result is a truly unique learning environment, which everyone can enjoy.”
