Remote monitoring and control system for laboratory fridges
11 August 2010
Italian company Smartfreeze S.r.l, part of Desmon Group,
has developed an innovative system of remote monitoring and control of
professional refrigerators.
In case of failure or a critical alarm like temperature drops, power
cut-off, dirty condenser, relocation of a fridge, an authorized user
receives an SMS and is able to solve a problem fast. It is also
possible to see a real-time information about each refrigerator via
the Internet, store history data and even change working parameters
remotely.
The system
is called SmartFreeze Unit (SFU). It consists of an electronic board
in ABS case with a compact antenna, modem, microcontroller GSM/GPRS,
SIM card slot and RS485 port for connection to electronic controller
or directly to 4 temperature probes.
