De Novo Software launches upgrade to FCS Express for flow and image cytometry

31 Jan 2011

De Novo Software has released a new version of FCS Express, its flagship product for flow cytometry analysis in clinical and pharmaceutical research laboratories.

David Novo, De Novo Software's president, said: "The new version was completely rewritten to support multi-core computer architecture, advanced image cytometry analysis and plate-based analysis for both flow and image cytometry. We incorporated hundreds of suggestions from users to maintain FCS Express' status as the best-of-breed cytometry data analysis software."

FCS Express is predominant for results reporting in clinical flow cytometry and the new release is expected to be well received in the clinical market. "We focused on improving ease-of-use and addressing requests for even more flexible and detailed reporting," said Tanya Tolmachoff, Director of Sales and Marketing at De Novo Software.

In addition, De Novo Software invested significant resources to expand their market footprint and customer's capability for processing Image Cytometry data by announcing the release of the first version of FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry, developed specifically for advanced analysis and reporting of Cellular Imaging data.

"De Novo Software believes that Flow Cytometry and Cellular Imaging are merging and have great potential together. Image cytometry can benefit significantly from the advanced analysis tools developed for multi-parametric flow data," said Michael Sjaastad, Director of Business Development at De Novo Software. "New tools enable High-content analysis of image data for both research and screening. We added features to FCS Express that make working with images simple and improve results."

De Novo Software distributes software directly and through strategic partners, and will expand their distribution network in the imaging market.

With the new software release, De Novo Software deployed a new website with detailed training and support features including on-line tutorials. The software can be purchased and downloaded from the website, along with a 30-day free trial. Existing customers will be offered upgrade options.

FCS Express is compatible with data from many instrument platforms and data file formats. The user interface works similarly to common software packages, such as the MS Office suite, and is easy to learn.
