Eizo launches new range of RadiForce diagnostic monitors
5 September 2011
EIZO UK has launched four new models to its range of RadiForce
G&R-Series of medical diagnostic monitors. The 3 megapixel monochrome
GX340 and colour RX340, and the 2 megapixel monochrome GX240 and colour
RX240.
The new models incorporate LED backlights which offer a longer
service life and enable EIZO UK to offer a 5-year
warranty. By utilising an energy-efficient LED backlight, the
monitors achieve higher maximum brightness and reduction in power
consumption of approximately 21% (EIZO’s internal measurement under
the same conditions) compared to the same size monitor with a
conventional CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) backlight.
Eizo's new range of Radiforce monitors
The new models feature EIZO’s unique Hybrid Gamma function which
automatically distinguishes whether the displayed images are
monochrome or colour even within the same application. It displays
each image in its ideal brightness and greyscale tones. The function
also distinguishes monochrome images from different modalities such
as chest X-ray or ultrasound and is therefore beneficial for
monochrome monitors as well. This expands the usability of PACS
(Picture Archiving and Communication System) applications by
ensuring that various medical images are optimally displayed
simultaneously.
An Integrated Front Sensor (IFS) housed within the front bezel
measures brightness and greyscale tones and calibrates to the DICOM
Part 14 standard. Without having to connect and disconnect, the IFS
performs QC tasks and does not interfere with the viewing area. This
dramatically cuts monitor quality control workload and maintenance
costs.
All models come equipped with a presence sensor which unites
convenience with savings by ensuring the monitor conserves power
when it is not in use. The presence sensor prompts the monitor to
switch to power save mode when it detects the user is away from the
monitor, and to then resume normal operation when the user returns.
Worldwide availability of all
four models is scheduled for quarter one of 2012.
