UK medical device and diagnostics companies will be able to gain a commercial insight into the US, Canadian and Mexican healthcare markets at a specialist roadshow in Birmingham on Thursday 8 March.

Hosted by Medilink UK in conjunction with UKTI, the North American Healthcare Market Access Roadshow will cover the unique healthcare landscape in each country and examine the challenges of the commercialisation process.

Fred Tobia, Director of Regulatory and Clinical Services, Aptiv Solutions will be talking about the regulatory environment, while Joe Ferrara, President, Boston Healthcare will look at market access. Steve Campbell, Director of Diaco Limited will provide a first-hand account of the obstacles and successes his UK company experienced when it took the leap across the pond.

David McCarthy, President, McCarthy Consulting Services Inc will explain the route to market in Canada, while Francisco Acosta Minquini, Counsellors Coordinator, COFEPRIS (Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks) shares his knowledge of the Mexican market.

Medilink UK Chairman Tony Davis said: “This is a unique chance for companies to learn about the routes to commercialisation of medical devices and diagnostics in the US and meet other firms across the UK who share their ambitions.

Our panel of experts from both the US and the UK will be sharing their experiences and identifying immediate commercial opportunities that exist for British firms. It’s an invaluable seminar for anyone who’s looking to export, or is interesting in expanding its global reach.”
